This evening, Mr. Big Food, Miss M & I watched a video of a television special that aired on NBC in 1976.

Here it is.

It stars John Wayne and features Ann Margaret, Lucille Ball, Jack Benny, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Roy Clark, Bing Crosby (as Mark Twain), Roscoe Lee Brown (as Fredrick Douglas), William Shatner, and many others. 

And a musical rendition of the Declaration of Independence!
