A Good Dog

Still trundling along
Much as I love the Old Girl, Suzy lacks the requisite characteristics to be described as an Excellent Dog. But she is a Good Dog. She doesn't have a malicious bone in her under-calcified old body.

She eats like a little horse (just slower). I have to be very careful about this. Rocky's gotten a lot better about eating from Suzy's food bowl-- the content of which are far superior to his, but Missy hasn't learned this lesson well enough yet. So I have to make sure Suzy is getting enough.

Mr. Big Food and I were chatting about this as we tidied up the kitchen. He was concerned about her.

This morning's pasture treat was Vienna sausage bites (TM). Suzy always follows the First Dog Out all the way down to the pasture gate. And then she turns around and heads back to the house. Sometimes, once the First Dog Out & I are in the pasture and on the loose, we catch up with Suzy-- she's on one side of the fence, we're on the other. This morning, Suzy came over to the fence and took a Vienna sausage bite out of my hand on her way to the house.

Suzy's doing fine. She's a Good Dog. She barked at Missy! She wasn't in any danger, she was just annoyed. And she barked. Good Dog!
