I do miss those. There are some up in the woods around Lake Arrowhead - where my son and DIL lived for several years, but they're definitely not native to California. I haven't seen them anywhere else. I have no doubt they were carefully cultivated!
Yes! Dogwoods and redbuds are native here. Such a delight to see them this time of year. I know you have gorgeous natives where you are, but I don't blame you for missing dogwood.
