    We had some in the area when we lived in Georgia...those suckers are _mean_!!

    Not in your area generally? Or are you just lucky?

    I take it you found something about them on the 'net?? And were unaware of their existence (blissfully!) prior to that find?

    I knew about *regular* snapping turtles-- which are bad enough-- but I'd never heard of these guys. I'm not really a turtle person, though!
