What a day!
Here's the recipe for last night's Swiss Steak. We/he-- whoever-- did it in a cast iron skillet and baked it.
SWISS STEAK
1 ½ lbs cube steak, pounded
Flour
Bacon fat or shortening (for browning steaks)
2 C diced stewed tomatoes (substitute Ro*tel for some of the
tomatoes for a spicy dish)
2 onions, sliced
Water (to cover dish before baking)
Bay leaf
Salt, pepper, to taste
