It's a miracle. It only took seven years.

Mr. Big Food and I are just diddling around inside this Saturday afternoon while it's warm outside. As we both looked to see what Alcino said about The Book on his website, we recalled with great nostalgia the last seven years.

On a lovely evening in April, 2005, at a Mt. Adams pub with a balcony overlooking Cincinnati and the Ohio River, Alcino, Mr. Big Food and I were sitting on three- and four-legged chairs enjoying a beer, talking neuroscience and philosophy.

One and one half years later, we temporarily moved to The Bunker to be closer to Alcino so they could write The Book-- which was already beginning to take on a life of its own.

Mr. Big Food says, "And we did write The Book. A lot of times."

Working on the first draft in August, 2007.

Meanwhile, Alcino had moved back to LA. We later returned to The Compound, and Tony moved to LA to work with Alcino on The Book. Later still, we moved to The Farm. 

When Kat and Tony first visited The Farm in May, 2010, The Book was just about done. 

Five years on, a lot of work had gone into The Book. If you don't believe me, just ask Tony.

But there was a problem. One evening during Kat & Tony's visit, Mr. Big Food announced that as soon as The Book was out, he was going to write a critical review of his own The Book. Yes. You read that correctly.

Tony went back to LA and re-wrote The Book.

That took a couple of years, but by May, 2012, Mr. Big Food thought The Book was done, again.

But there was a problem. Alcino wanted to re-write The Book one more time.

And now, The Book is done, again. 

It is an excellent book-- I know because I've read every single version of The Book from beginning to end at least once, and some chapters (cough. 7) in this, the Final Version of The Book, multiple times. 

Three really smart people. Seven years. What would you expect other than an excellent book?
