The Grievances-- Final Edition: #27 of 27

Thomas Jefferson & Co. presented The Grievances in ascending order of importance. Taxation without Consent was #17. In TJ's mind then, Taxation without Representation wasn't the worst of what the American People-- a people whose heritage of freedom dated to the Magna Carta-- had endured under the reign of King George III.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
